If you remember back a couple months ago, I posted about the planter boxes Cesar and Mateo made. Well my friends, they are flourishing! We have grean beans, cilantro, strawberries, jalapenos, serrano chiles, corn, tomatoes, citrus, and more tasty things coming... Mateo is especially excited because he has played such an active role in creating, planting, watering, and maintaining these plants! He's just like his mama because he eats the tomatoes right off the vine! He says they're yummy!
This is the start of our compost pile.

Wow I'm Blessed
I was finishing up dinner tonight and looked outside to see my husband and my son holding hands and walking around on the back upper portion of our property. Janeta was sleeping and I couldn't help but think about how fortunate I am to have the life I live! June and July are extremely busy months and I can't help but remember that that my mother passed away in June and my grandpa passed away in July and they would be so proud of the person I've become and the gifts I've recieved. My kids are healthy and happy, my husband is a great provider and amazing father, my extended family is absolutely amazing and supportive, and we live in a beautiful house in a great deal of property that our kids are going to be able to enjoy for many years to come. We've had so many hardships, deaths, and struggles over the past couple years but man look at all the amazing things that have been created and developed! The Chavez cup is definitely half full not half empty. Thanks for listening to my sappy post.....:)

Mama and Janeta
We are all enjoying our summer and waking up each day not having an agenda to adhere to but Janeta pretty much rules the roost. She is starting to really follow a schedule and that consists of basically being up all morning with small little catnaps followed by a 3-4 hour nap around noon. She has been sleeping well at night and has begun to smile which melts anyone's heart who witnesses it!
I'm looking forward to getting back into my pre-pregnancy clothes. It's not so much the number on the scale but the actual body itself! I only have close to 5 pounds to go but wow having babies does a wammy on your stomach. I'm getting very excited to go to Washington at the end of July and for Mateo to start swim lessons again. So that's what's going on in our neck of the woods :)

Camping in Woodcrest
We decided to go camping in Woodcrest (our backyard). Cesar did a great job making it special for all of Mateo's cousins. We set up camp complete with a campfire, tents, food and drinks. We were hoping this would be a great start to some real camping for Mateo but he decided that sleeping in his own bed was more appropriate. Ha! He couldn't quite figure out why someone would sleep outside when their house was right there!

One Month Old
So I can't believe it's already been a month since I've had Janeta! She is a little sweet pea and still sleeps all the time. It's such a different feeling having a girl...just as cool as having a boy but different. Mateo continues to love on her and calls her "pretty girl" and gives her hugs and kisses every time he walks by. She loves her tummy time mat (thanks Shannon) and Mateo joins in by laying next to her and showing her how all of the toys make sounds.

Update
It just cracks me up how many faces Janeta makes! This one is a classic "What are you doing to me mom?"
She looks like she's trying to dance but she's really saying "I'm about to get upset that you're not taking me out of my crib and just taking pictures mom!"
"I love my Hello Kitty!"

Everyone has asked me about her eyes, so here they are...blue like Mateo's. I have no idea if they will stay as Mateo's are more hazel now but I must say that I'm shocked again at how strong my family's eye genes are!

A Couple Videos
Here are 2 videos...one of Janeta right after she was born and one of Mateo pretending he's Woody from Toy Story. Enjoy!
