Summer Lovin'

This was Mateo's first time in the pool! He spent almost 2 hours just hanging with his Tia. We're hoping this is the first of many enjoyable pool days.

Sitting Up

I couldn't resist putting these pictures up because Mateo looked so darn cute sitting up like a big boy in his bumbo chair. He is extremely strong (he was able to pull himself to standing position when he was only a couple weeks old) so sitting up was a breeze. He can't sit up by himself yet, only with support but it's amazing how many milestones they meet so quickly! *Notice the dimple on his elbow in the 2nd picture!

Shotgun & Inca

I couldn't leave out a picture of our 2 chihuahuas. They used to be pampered and loved like they were my children until I actually had my son and now they are quite sad! They have always slept outside but spent most of the day inside, but now they are almost strictly outside dogs. When Mateo gets a little older they will resume their past rankings!

Mateo Gilberto Chavez

So obviously the most important and adorable thing in our life is our baby boy Mateo. He was 8 pounds 11 ounces and 21 inches long when he was born. At his first week appointment, he was already 9 pounds 6 ounces. He didn't lose any weight like most babies. At his 2 month appointment, he weighed 12 pounds 7 ounces. So the boy isn't hurting for food! He is starting to smile often and is beginning to sleep a lot more through the night (THANK GOD!).

Finally...I'm Blogging!

I have a feeling I'm not going to be a superstar at keeping my blog updated, but here goes nothing! I love keeping updated on friends' lives and seeing beautiful pictures of children, homes, vacations, ect....so I hope I can do the same!

Just a little update on our life...Cesar and I built our house in the fall of 2004, got married July 29th of last year, and had a baby April 4th of this year! It's been a wild ride to say the least. I've been teaching now for almost 8 years and Cesar is on his 10th year. We still love our jobs, each other, and are so fulfilled now to be parents.
