New Room

We moved Mateo into a new big boy"CARS" room and he loves it! I didn't take many pics of the room for some strange reason so look for those in another post BUT I did snap a pic of him in his new big boy bed and reading area. I walked in yesterday to check on him because he had slept for so long and judging by the picture, I can tell. He looked so comfortable! I love to walk in and see him doing puzzles or reading books by himself (a teacher's dream right?!?).

Exploring the Outside World

My little man absolutely LOVES to be outside! I'm so thankful that we have plenty of land for him to explore. He is usually out the door, still in his pajammies (as seen in the pics) creating all sorts of mischief.

He is especially fond of the plethora of bugs he comes across while "exploring". And what would a morning of exploring be without a Starbucks passion fruit iced tea?

Mateo is going to get a ...

SISTER!
I found out I'm having a baby girl and we are so excited. I find myself drifting into a world of pastels quite often and don't quite know how to adjust to a girly frame of mind when all I've known for almost the past 2 years is sports, dirt, Cars, and the color blue. I have so much to be thankful for and look forward to my daughter's (it's so weird even to type it) arrival. I had an amazing relationship with my mother and hope I can imitate that with my very own!

Frosting Cookies

So we decided to "frost" some cookies and Mateo had a blast. I think he enjoyed the "eating" part of it the best (who wouldn't?)

A satisfied face!

Oak Glen

Oak Glen is one of my favorite places as it reminds me of home. Many of you know that I grew up across the street from Lattin's Country Cider Mill and it was an integral part of my childhood and hometown experiences. This area is gorgeous and has that hometown feel. Mateo had a blast with his cousins, catching fish and feeding the animals! If this isn't the funniest looking llama you've ever seen...
Someone found a fire truck!
Mateo with all of his cousins!

Have you noticed the cheese smile Mato has picked up?

Fishing!

Mateo kept thinking it was a better idea to put the pole IN the water because it was closer to the fishies!

Just about to net the fish...

Here is the fish that Mateo and his dada caught!

Thomas the Train

We decided to head out to the Thomas the Train exhibit today for a couple hours and Mateo had a great time. The pictures are in a backwards sequential order so the first picture is actually the last we took in front of the Thomas the Train engine. It was actually really cold for our neck of the woods, hence the jackets and hats.
Mateo is saying "Choo Choo" in this picture!

They had a bunch of wooden Thomas stations and I swear Mateo would have been just fine if this was the only stop we made.

They had a little petting zoo and he was running around saying "sheep, goat, piggy, and horsey". He knows these animals from his books but has only seen a goat and horse in real life so he was super excited.

Guess Who's Having Triplets?

NOT ME!

But I am pregnant! Hehehe

Baby #2 Due in May 2010

We decided to wait a while this time to tell the family and let me tell you...it was hard! I have been so sick. My pregnancy with Mateo was so stinkin easy that this one seemed far more difficult. I am now getting over the "morning sickness" or as I would like to refer to as "all day sickness" and hoping for some smooth sailing for a while! I am so excited to give Mateo a brother or sister. This will be the 10th grandchild in the Chavez family and only 1, yes 1, is a girl!
